Because this my uncensored lead generation story. The ups, the downs, what stuff didn’t work and finally the one thing that did help me achieve my personal goal of generating more leads for my network marketing business.

Ten years ago when i first joined my first network marketing opportunity selling pre-paid legal services i was just like you, plagued with the idea of having to contact my warm market, i.e. people i already knew and attempt to pitch them on my business opportunity the way my up-line instructed me to do.

I always believed in the power of marketing, so i simply wanted to post ads, create flyers, and even back then attempt to advertise on the internet. Although i had no idea how to go about doing it. So i went along with the usual dogmatic approach of ever network marketing company.

I went through every single family member and every friend i had only to be shot down by each and every last on of them. When i ran out of people to bug, i had no one else to contact, so now my business was dead in the water. I certainly didn’t know how to go out and approach perfect strangers and get them to join my business or even come to a PBR. So just like many of you.. i gave up! I simply counted that $199 start-up fee as a lost and written network marketing off as a scam. A couple years went by and i had got desperate again sick of the day to day grind and accepted another opportunity, this time they wanted me to sell discount light and gas service. I thought that this has to be simple, people already use light and gas, so it shouldn’t be hard to get them to switch over to my service so i could collect a residual income and i was sure i could get my family to support me seeing as though all they had to do is switch their service. Although like most network marketing companies, the product or service usually sucks and this time, they were not saving enough money to want to switch to my service. After running through my warm market again, i soon counted my $499 sign up fee as a loss and vowed to never join another network marketing business again. Then after loosing my good paying web design job back in a several years ago, i started to look at network marketing again, but this time i wasn’t going to approach it from those Old-School, Out Dated, Silly Pitch and Chase Stuff Still Being Taught By Uplines Stuck in the 90′s. This time i was going to make the prospects call me. I wasn’t going to bother my friends and family until they stopped answering the phone. Plus, they have seen me fail with so many network marketing opportunities that there was no way they would take me serious this time.

Now i was a person who did not belong to any large social circles, so after bi-passing my friends and family i didnt really have anyone else to talk to about my business. Yet i knew i had to get my business in front of as many people as possible, and the internet was the only obvious approach to take, but how. How can i get hundreds if not thousands of people to take a look at my opportunity in the shortest amount of time. First i tried buying a huge list of leads for an astronomical amount of money, in which i would have to call daily, pitching my business. That didnt work because i soon found that if your leads are not interested in a business opportunity, then its a waste of time and money.

I even tried paying for pay per click advertising as a main source of leads… it worked for a while but it got quite expensive for the amount of leads it generated, plus the price for keywords just kept going up and up. I still use pay-per-click today, but its NOT my only source for leads. I needed to generate cash flow to keep paying for PPC marketing. Of course how do i do that, and focus on my network business?

Then i finally tried social networking sites. At the time MySpace was popular so i tried to recruit people who would sign up to my profile, they literally ignored every advance i made for them to check out my business. Later Facebook came along and even though i saw other people being successful with it, i couldn’t seem to tap into that social networking power. I was really getting fed up now. How were these other people generating so many leads and growing their business, when it seemed no body wanted to hear about my business.

Just when i was ready to give it all up again, i stumbled upon this simple system for generating targeted leads for network marketers. There has been a lot of speculation as to whether generating leads online for your network marketing business is as effective as contacting your warm market which consist of friends and family. Over the past 10 years in network marketing i have had little to no success with contacting friends and family about joining a business opportunity that i had become apart of. This can be a disheartening fact but most network marketing companies are designed so that only the top 3% succeed while the remaining 97% fail. Every network marketing company that i have been apart of teaches the same techniques for generating leads for building your organization. I am going to tell you that you will never succeed this way.

The only way to succeed in the modern network marketing industry is to leverage the power of the internet to draw in targeted leads. Of course, at this point i wasn’t talking, but i did offer them a position in my business.

I now generate hundreds of leads online every week by plugging into a system which allowed me to leveraged the power of the internet using cutting edge technology. All i had to do was put everything in place and sit back and watch the leads come rolling in. Now every morning i have at least 20-30 leads waiting in my inbox for me to call each day and the best thing, each and every one of my leads is glad to hear from me and waiting eagerly to see what i have to share with them. This is the best feeling in the world when your are a network marketer.

Starting a network marketing business can be a very challenging venture, especially the first step of creating your warm market list and contacting friends and family with your business opportunity. Even though i agreed with him on having to follow up with people in person via phone, i didn’t see why you couldn’t harvest people to call from the internet would you would then contact personally. That was more than 10 years ago. Now with the advent of social networks, people are making new relationships every online and it has become easier to meet someone online than it is to connect with a person in real life.
